ASTI is a NGO who started this program in 2013 and are growing at almost 100% year on year.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge is team based. YIC requires teams of upto 4-5 secondary students to put their minds together and come up with an invention. The purpose of programme is to build and encourage the creative and inventive capabilities of our young people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theme<\/strong> for 2019 competition: United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption to Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n<p>Sayfol International School submitted<strong> two <\/strong>proposals<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(1) Title of Invention:\u200b<strong> The Algae Pen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(2) Title of Invention:\u200b <strong>The magnetic oil separator boat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Our school has been selected to participate in the Young Inventors Challenge (YIC) 2019 <strong>Grand Finale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This year the Young Inventors Challenge Working Group Committee received 286 invention proposals from 446 registrations from 10 countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Timor Leste and China.<\/p>\n<p>The judges made up of 57 representatives from industries and academia, had a tough time screening through the proposals\u00a0three times\u00a0before finalizing the\u00a0qualifying\u00a0teams and we are proud to announce that our team \u2018<strong>The Algae Pen\u2019<\/strong> is one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Name of participants<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>NIRANJAN BASKARAN<\/li>\n<li>RAAJEEV RAJESH<\/li>\n<li>MIN JUN CHOI<\/li>\n<li>SHRUT SILAKARI<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Proposal preview :<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur invention reduces plastic production in factories and industries as \u2018The Algae Pen\u2019 can be used over and over again so that consumers do not have to buy any more disposable plastic pens.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<span class=\"et_bloom_bottom_trigger\"><\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young Inventors Challenge (YIC) 2019 Young Inventors Challenge is organised by ASTI (Association of Science &amp; Technology &amp; Innovation).
