Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you are staying safe and well.

We are very busy at the moment preparing for the reopening of our school for the new academic year, and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone again on 24 August 2020.

Social distancing, smaller class sizes, face masks, face shields, thermal scanners and many other safety precautions will all be part of ‘the new normal’ upon our return. Each one of us must play our part to ensure the well-being of all of us.

Entering Malaysia from Overseas

While most of us have remained in Malaysia over our school holiday period, we are aware that some have visited overseas, especially to your home countries. We want to take this opportunity to advise anyone returning from overseas about health and safety procedures that must be followed.

If you have recently entered Malaysia from overseas (even from Singapore), you must self-isolate for 14 days and submit a health test that confirms you are COVID-negative. You may be asked to present your passport to confirm these details.

Travel within Malaysia is not currently restricted at all, although the Government of Malaysia has advised that all unnecessary travel should be avoided as much as possible.

Returning to School

For the new academic year, Sayfol has introduced a number of health and safety precautions that include the following:

* Both Primary and Secondary School students must arrive by 7:30am from Mondays to Fridays

* Everybody entering the school must wear a face mask

* Parents will not be permitted to enter without an appointment. Kindly make an appointment at admissions@sayfol.edu.my or on our Facebook Page: Sayfol International School KL

* Before entering our school premises, your body temperature will be checked by a thermal scanner installed at the various main entrances

* Homeroom teachers will issue all students with a face shield on the first day back at school (24th August)

* Students should bring extra masks in case of loss or damage

* Food can be brought from home. However you are encouraged to pre-ordered your school meals on our School official website (https://sayfol.edu.my/online-store/online-store-school-meals/)

* Students should bring their own water bottles and may get it refilled from the school water dispensers

* Sanitizers are available at many locations across the school and must be used regularly

* Students will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly

* Masks and face shields must be worn throughout school hours and while travelling in the bus

* Movement will be restricted during the day and students will remain in year-level zones

* Class sizes will be reduced to enable social distancing in classrooms

* There will be no assemblies, ECA or inter-school sports events in Term 1

School Dismissal

Kindergarten – pick up from 1.30pm

Primary School – pick up from 2pm
