Sayfolians’ Testimonials
Hi! I’m Amber Kim, a Year 7 student from South Korea.
The reason I love Sayfol is because my teachers have been really patient with me, especially with dealing with transitions leading to virtual classes. During my first 2 years at Sayfol, my command in English was not good. After my teachers patiently taught me how to enjoy learning this language, I am now able to write essays at length as well as present my homework in English. In addition, I have found great interest in the subject called “Global Perspective”. This subject has taught me to see the world from various perspectives and allow me to speak up about what I truly believe in. Most of all, my diverse and fun classmates from different parts of the world have made love going to school even more!
I have been with Sayfol since Year 5. Currently in Year 9, Sayfol has contributed a lot to my development not only in studying but in my attitude and behavior. I had greatly improved my English, both in speaking and writing. I had the opportunity to become a cheerleader in 2018 and joined a variety of sports during Health, Fitness and Sports Week. Not only that, I’ve also contributed to the school’s production, namely The Jungle Book. That involved a broad range of skills such as clarity of speech and emotional facility. This has helped me with collaboration and teamwork skills with people I do not know. Sayfol has allowed me to participate in various international competitions such as the Math Olympiad and chess competition.
Our school prides itself in being multi-cultural, thus the situation has allowed me to learn about other countries’ cultures and traditions. I can now communicate and easily make friends with students from different countries and backgrounds. I am thankful to my friends at Sayfol who helped me cultivate better characteristics and have good manners. I would also like to thank the teachers because they’ve improved my weaknesses and have made me a better person. Teachers are the ones who created positive environment for students to study and learn in. Hence, they’ve earned my respect. I can proudly say being a student at Sayfol is a unique journey. Someday when I graduate from Sayfol, my experience at Sayfol will be remembered throughout my life.
I have finally graduated from Sayfol International School and achieved great results in all of the 9 subjects.
I enjoyed my 4 years at Sayfol International School. Without Mrs K’s warm support as a Principal, I could not have come this far. I treasure all the time spent at Sayfol and I thank Mrs K for her leadership.
For all the years I have been at Sayfol, I am ever so appreciative of the myriad of opportunities I have been presented to manifest the skills and abilities. One of the earliest recollections I have of Sayfol and the one which I am most grateful for is related to my infatuation with books. I think my passion for writing and journaling blossomed due to the utter enthusiasm of teachers urging us to share our stories with the class. I was astounded how I was able to spellbind all my friends merely through my words, inspiring me to write novels at the age of twelve.
I have had given a golden opportunity to be the Head Prefect for the Sayfol community which added to my expanding record of achievements over the years. I was supported in every step of my way to exhibit my leadership and academic skills which resulted in many awards, certificates for scoring highest in my grade in numerous subjects
To add to that, I recall the way my teachers ignited my affection for math and sharpened my logical and numerical skills with competitive quizzes and inter-house math contests in Primary. I had an inclination for competing in quick arithmetic tournaments and trained to win several awards over the years, and recently won an award at the Malaysian Abacus Establishment for 8th level as the first runner-up. For all of this, I have no one to thank but the humble staff and teachers of Sayfol.
I have been in Sayfol since Year 1, and the school has played such a huge role in my development as a person. If I had gone to any other school, I don’t think I would have accomplished what I have here, such as becoming Sports Girl in 2019, winning sports events, entering various art contests and designing things, which helped in my participation skills and confidence – all because of the encouragement I got from supportive teachers.
At Sayfol, I am able to express myself creatively with all the competitions and events and bring out the best in me when I play my sports. I have made many friends along the way from Primary up till Secondary from different backgrounds with unique personalities, which have influenced my character for the better. I obtained skills I never thought I was capable of, being the shy girl I was, such as leadership, good time management, and learning to adapt with what I have in every situation.
Besides my friends at Sayfol, I have to thank all the teachers from Primary and Secondary for creating a positive environment and pushing me to do my best. They are very passionate about teaching, and caring too. They are the ones behind my good grades as they have taught me well, pushed me to achieve my goals, and made me believe in myself. I am excited to see how I will grow as a person till I leave secondary school and beyond.
I would like to thank Ms. Nilofer and I am ever grateful to have you as my English teacher. You are one of my favourite teachers in Sayfol. Your students are blessed to have an understanding and kind teacher.
Greetings! I am Favour Olujimi and I have been a student at Sayfol since 2012. From Kindergarten to Year 9, Sayfol has given me a wide range of experiences and they have all been worth it! It is the teachers, staff, and my friends that make it all worth it. Teachers that cater for students like they are their own children, staff that provide clean classrooms for students, and students that make the class a place of laughter and joy!
In school, I have been granted a few awards. Last academic year I scored 99/100 for Commerce making me the 2nd highest in the overall grade. I was also awarded a certificate for scoring the highest in English: 98%. At the last Health, Fitness and Sports Week, I ran an 800m race and came first. I also participated in a push up competition and earned 2nd place. I am pretty grateful for my achievements so far!
Finally, Sayfol has given me opportunities to Outside of school, I am a part of my church choir and I am currently learning to play the guitar. I’m also working towards public speaking as it is one of my many passions and because of the many opportunities Sayfol provides, I can work towards it with ease.
Throughout my secondary years at Sayfol, I found it impossible to turn a blind eye towards the immaculate efforts put by the school into bringing out the best from their students. In these past five years, I’ve managed to add new successes and achievements to my ever-growing list of accomplishments. I’ve had the opportunity to host countless private and public events as the emcee, won “Sports Girl of The Year” three times since I first joined, participated in several global scientific and mathematical quizzes, been awarded certificates for top scorer in the grade, and last but not least, my biggest achievement yet – becoming Head Prefect.
Academically, I excelled in all of my subjects, showing massive improvement every semester. All of this was made possible by our teachers. Their perseverance towards creating a brighter future for the world is made evident through their teaching, which never fails to encourage their students to reach for the stars. Sayfol is an educational establishment that serves as a platform for young children to mature into adults that are ready to take on obstacles they will face in the real world. There is no room for worry here, only fun and learning!
I am a Year 8 Sayfol student. My hobbies are: basketball, parkour, gaming, reading, and finding fun facts about the universe. Sayfol has a basketball court I have played on for years. There are 4 courts in total. Before I came to Sayfol I had never played basketball. My friends were not interested in basketball, but I persuaded them to play with me. They eventually got addicted. The football field at Sayfol is massive. It is merged with a 200-meter track for students who run.
There is a library where a lot of people enjoy reading books. It is a very peaceful and calm place. There is an infirmary that takes care of the injured and sick people. The canteen here sells different types of food and snacks. There is a private bookshop that is within the school. It sells textbooks, exercise books, and uniforms.
The school provides transportation services at a reasonable price. The teachers are well educated and teach a variety of subjects. There is a school card system that can be used for attendance purposes.
Sayfol has changed me in many ways. When I first joined Sayfol, I was treated kindly by the other students. I found a lot of friends that have helped me in many ways to this day. I have had a lot of fun moments at Sayfol.
Parents’ Testimonials
“While the whole world is emotionally and economically dealing with the trouble of COVID – 19, we sincerely appreciate every single effort from the school’s management to ensure the continued learning support to all of their students and the professional way that all this contingency has been managed so far. Since Day 01 of this MCO, all the teachers and school’s management have exhibited such phenomenal planning to deliver the best in class virtual schooling experience to the students and their parents.”
“My kids love the school so far, no complains from them and from me so far about the teachers and the managements. Teachers are professional and some are strict, which is fine to me as the kids do need some level of discipline especially on timing and rules in classroom. They ensure the kids grasp the concepts and for the weak ones, they will give extra attention to make sure they are not being left out. The teachers are attentive and proactive, caring and amazing at their job. They do not dismiss my kids on their random thoughts and always encourage them to express their ideas. All in all, we are quite satisfied the management and the teachers here. Keep up the good work Sayfol!”
Once a Sayfolian, always a Sayfolian
Fourteen years of school at Sayfol has been the best chapter of my life. Sayfol had and still does have a fantastic reputation for its academics. Alongside the incredible cultural variety, Sayfol sets you with challenges far beyond those of the other schools. I can always agree that the wonderful teachers and friends I’ve met have been a great impact in my life. I’ve never wanted to miss a day of school. Everyone was always welcoming and friendly. I certainly made some friends for a lifetime.
Today, I work for a big international company and it’s Sayfol that gave me the confidence to be able to communicate with people, having so many diverse cultures. Also, it is wonderful to have been part of a school with such a high educational standard.
As a successful student at Sayfol, it gives you so many great opportunities to start study at excellent universities around the world.
Besides academic success, some of my fondest memories are the times I spent with friends and my involvement in the orchestra and ‘house’ competitions.
If there’s anything I’d like to say to the young adults of Sayfol, it’s to keep trying and to keep moving forward because the biggest regret you’d have is to not try. If I can quote our school song “Whatever we Do, Must be our Best, Victory our Aim”
I have been a student at Sayfol International School since September 2012, making my entry into Primary 4.
Before I enrolled in Sayfol, I have always been this very timid and quiet girl. Throughout primary school at Sayfol, I began to discover a lot about myself as I was surrounded by classmates and teachers that brought out the best in me. As well as the knowledge I gained, I developed social skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Going into Secondary, I began to speak up more and had the opportunity to converse with far more people than before, however, I still lacked some confidence. It was not until I joined the Prefectorial Board at Sayfol that I found the true meaning of confidence. In all honesty, I was very reluctant to become a prefect, but I will never regret trusting the Prefect Teacher, Ms. Zuraida, who shaped me into the person I am today, teaching me communication, responsibility, and the confidence I was lacking.
Being the Head Prefect at Sayfol taught me leadership and teamwork. I experienced a few bumps along the road which only made me a better leader. Working with other prefects opened my mind and I learned different ways to find solutions to problems. I never really saw myself as a leader but having this experience opened up a part of me, I did not know was within my capability. I think everyone should have an opportunity like this to push themselves over their limit.
At Sayfol, as well as having friends that I shall never forget, the teachers also played a huge role in making my school life memorable. I’m not the brightest star, the fastest runner or the most creative person, yet with the help of great teachers, I am proud of what I have accomplished. The teachers at Sayfol go out of their way to help students and it is clear that they teach with a passion.
Studying in an international school introduced me to people and friends that come from different backgrounds. Exploring these many cultures is a gift and I am very thankful to have that opportunity to be exposed to this diversity.
My years at Sayfol was an enjoyable journey, with its highs and lows that have built my character throughout the years.
I have been here since kindergarten and over the years, I have seen so many changes.
From the countless teachers who have come and gone to the friends I have made and lost. Most of all, I have seen myself change within the walls of this school. I feel that’s what this school is all about. Being in Sayfol International School is not just about academic learning, but to find the people you need to help you change. This school provides (most of the time) an environment just for that. A hotpot of different people; among them, friends who could help better you. I’m thankful to have found my best friends around the world. I have so many memories, moments and milestones that I’ve experienced and lived in this school, and it is bittersweet to say goodbye for now.
It was back in 2017, I started my journey.
First class, first assignment, first activity, first performance…It’s hard to imagine how my high school life would be without all the teachers and friends in Sayfol. Without their understanding and encouragement, I can’t go this far.
Remember the first day of me coming to school, new environment, new curriculum, I was lost, completely, but I didn’t quit. Starting from learning English, making friends, collaborating with teachers, participating in school activities, I slowly became a member of Sayfol, this big family. I have grown up, more than I expected.
The second year of me being a Sayfolian, Music Concert, Sport Day, Education Fairs…I was able to freely develop my skills and creativities with the support from professional teachers and opportunities provided by the school. Without these opportunities, I can’t be who I am today.
Then, the prefect election started. I was too shy to give it a try, but with the support from teachers and friends, I decided to go for it. Action plans, interview, campaign, public speeches, it was definitely the most valuable experience I have had in high school and at the same time, I have developed my confidence and improved my leadership skills. I started to take more responsibility and tried my best to make Sayfol a better place!
For me, Sayfol is more than a school: the amount of cares and patience from teachers make me feel like home.
I loved Biology lessons and my teachers recognised the potential in me very early on. I learnt to think out of the box and be diligent. Thank you Sayfol.
I have studied within the walls of Sayfol since 2008, the year I entered Year 1. In the years following that, Sayfol has taught me invaluable lessons of friendship through the students and teachers I have met and become acquainted with. The jovial bouts of laughter we enjoyed in lessons that were altogether too tense for growing minds, hung on joy. Leadership, during my period serving the Prefectorial Board of our school and through my efforts and opportunities granted to me, becoming Deputy Head Prefect. I daresay my school has been more receptive to talent, creativity and positivity, and I am grateful to all the teachers for upholding the Sayfol crest; Ms. Zuraidah, my Prefect Teacher, Mrs. Chandran (who always scared my friends and I a bit, all in good humor) and of course, Mrs. K, the ever watchful eagle-eye who ensures the growth of all the students. Without them, would I be with my 7A*s? I should think not!
Entrepreneurship has been instilled in me through the lessons I took during my time at Sayfol. I understood the fundamentals of economics and business through experienced teachers.
Thank you for providing us with so many opportunities that got us to explore the new world.
Most importantly, thank you for never giving up on me.
I would like to thank all the teachers who dedicated themselves to help us achieve our dreams and goals. It has been a privilege to have all of you as our teachers. You took the time to explain assignments and new topics, sometimes repeatedly because we weren’t paying attention. You allowed us to come to you during school lunch time and break time for extra help when you could rest and enjoy yourself. I will never forget those sweet and sour days that we’ve spent with you. Those are our precious memories and it will always remain fresh in our minds.
Thank you very much dear teachers and administration officers, who helped me with my application for the Harvard Summer programme, where I met a lot of friends and professors.
I am deeply grateful to everyone for giving me the honour of being your Head Prefect, student and friend and for all the support and, indeed, the joy you have given me.
My 11 years in Sayfol International School have been overwhelming. Time flew by unbelievably fast, where it did not even feel as if I have been in Sayfol International School for that long. My eagerness to graduate quickly in primary school has now become mixed emotions, where now I feel quite sad yet excited for my next step in life. Hard times during my journey in Sayfol International School have been made easier from the guidance by teachers and friends which I will never forget. With that being said, I’m happy to say that I will never forget my years in Sayfol International School.
My journey in Sayfol started the moment I stepped into Primary 1. From there, the next 11 years went like a flash. I still think back and recall the moments, which I will always cherish. Along the way, I met different types of people, made friends, lost a few and, not to forget, learned something new every day. I won’t say I never faced any obstacles, but overcoming them made me who I am today. I can sincerely say that the past 3 years had been the best years of my life. I will really miss all the good times of laughter and fun, along with some difficulties and mischief. I will never forget the teachers who helped guide me to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. Most of all, my friends with whom I have missed spending time with. My time at Sayfol International School has truly been a remarkable ride and it’s time for us to take the next step forward.
English literature and the mysterious world of literature gave me the motivation to go ahead and try new things in my life. I’m studying journalism as part of my course and Sayfol has everything to with what I have become today.
BYUN WA JOO Class of 2015 (2004-2015) + A Levels (2015-2017) – Class of June 2015
I joined Sayfol in Primary 1 and I have continued to study until A Levels. For the past 13 years, Sayfol has given me wonderful experiences. It’s been a place to learn and develop. Sayfol has prepared me fully for my next chapter in life, being a student in Seoul National University. I am glad to have studied in an institution that has helped me to reach my goals and I am saying it from the bottom of my heart. The school is really committed in nurturing students and tailors to the needs of individual students. Everyone at Sayfol including the administration staffs are helpful and approachable. I am able to ask for assistance given. In addition, I feel Sayfol will be able to help and bring out the best in its students as long as they are willing to listen and learn. The school has students from all over the world. We are taught to be tolerant and respect one another. As I am able to embrace different cultures, thus I am able to mingle well with all.
In Sayfol, I have taken up many roles:
- I was a Prefect since Primary 6
- A Class Monitor at Year 10
- A Class Monitor of Year 11
- Member of the Marching Band and Orchestra
Sayfol really shaped me into who I am today. My years at Sayfol taught me to always focus on improvement. I learnt to be confident but at the same time realistic. I joined the MOKPO Maritime University, and I am putting all my experience I gained at Sayfol to test.
