On the 2nd of November, we took a number of teams to participate in the BMW cup. All the students played well, leaving their sweat and tears on the pitch and representing the school well. We are definitely proud of each and every student who took part and grateful to the teachers and coaches who gave up their Saturday to support and coach the teams.
UNDER 11 BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM – 1st place
We had two teams represent school in this category, Team A and Team B. Both teams played extremely well throughout the tournament. There were wins and losses, but they all held their heads high. Sayfol Team A emerged as Champions after fighting hard in the finals against the International Modern Arab School drawing at the end of match time, leading to the penalties, where we won 5-4. Congratulations to both teams, you represented the school well.
OVER 15 BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM- 3rd place
After many weeks of rigorous training, the two Sayfol teams in this category entered the tournament with confidence and conviction. The opposition was extremely tough. Team A managed a very credible 3rd place overall finishing position. Team B fished also high, with an overall 5th place finish. A huge thank you goes out to their coach, Dhivien, who gave up many hours of his own free time to come in to the school to work with these young men. Well done to both teams, you were a shining example of how teams should represent their schools.
OVER 15 GIRLS FOOTBALL TEAM
Even before the start of the tournament, these ladies had to overcome multiple challenges, and at one time it seemed that there would not even be a team. However, as a result of their determination to represent the school, they managed to create a team, train and prepare, and play in the tournament with pride and dignity. During the tournament, the opposition was tough and fierce, but it did not stop these ladies from battling through to the end. Well done ladies, you have represented Sayfol very well, and the whole school community is proud of your achievements and efforts.
UNDER 13 BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM
An excellent game from the under 13 school football team players at the tournament. The boys set out with determination and a positive attitude, they displayed good teamwork and cooperation throughout the tournament. With one win, two draws and one lost, the boys played exceptionally well. Mutale demonstrated his talent by scoring 8 goals for our team. Well done to the team, you represented the school well.
