1. What are Sayfol’s school hours?

Mon – Thurs

Kindergarten to Year 2: 7.15 am – 2.00 pm

Year 3 to Year 11: 7.15 am – 2.30 pm

Friday

All levels: 7.15 am – 12.30 pm

2. How is the school year structured?

The school year commences in August. Our academic year is divided into 3 terms

I) Term 1 – August to December
ii) Term 2 – January to April
iii) Term 3 – April to July

3. When are the school holidays?

Refer to the brochure for the Academic Calendar.

4. Is a placement test required for admission?

Yes. Students are required to sit for 2 tests, English and Maths. Based on the test, the teacher will advise if the student can continue with the suggested current year group or level down.

5. Do you accept year-round admission for all levels?

Yes, except Year 11.

6. Do you process student visas for new applications?

Yes, with valid documents. Kindly check with the admission team.

7. What are the minimum age requirements for each grade level?

Refer to the brochure.

8. Do you provide boarding for students?

No.

9. What is your school's curriculum like?

KG – IEYC

Year 1 to Year 13 – British curriculum (IGCSE Cambridge & Edexcel Pearson)

10. What extracurricular activities do students have access to?

CCA: Conducted during school hours (1.30 pm – 2.30 pm)

ECA: Conducted after school hours (2.30 pm – 3.30 pm)

Refer to the back page of the brochure for sample activities provided. Kindly note that there will be different activities every term.

11. What are some of the assistances offered to help students who are not native English speakers?

i)ESL
Upon placement test, teachers will determine if the student can continue with English or should be given additional guidance through English as a Second Language (ESL).
Primary – ESL is taught instead of language
Secondary – ESL is taught as a subject

ii)AEP
We provide Accelerated English Program (AEP) to help non-native speakers and help students with little or no English skills, depending on grade level [Partial Immersion]

12. Are there any financial assistance or scholarships available?

Refer to Admission Team.

13. What are the payment modes?

Cash, Online Transfer, Credit Card, Debit Card & Cheque.

14. What is the maximum number of students in a class?

EL & KG: 10 – 16 students

Year 1 & Year 2: 16 – 18 students

Year 3 to Year 11: 20 – 25 students

15. Is the school offering any transport services?

Yes, (3rd party). Kindly check the areas covered by the bus with the admissions team.

16. What does the school uniform look like?

KG – Year 2: Dark Green collar t-shirt and mid-length Tartan shorts

Year 3 – Year 6: Dark Green collar t-shirt and mid-length grey shorts (boys) or Tartan skort (girls)

Secondary: Dark green collar t-shirt and long grey pants (boys) or Tartan skirt (girls)

17. What types of meals are available in the canteen?

Breakfast: Assorted sandwich, Fries, Nuggets, Porridge, Nasi Lemak, Fried Noodles (RM 3 – RM 5.50)

Lunch: Asian, Western & Vegetarian (RM 9 – RM 13)

18. How can students pay in the canteen?

i) Coupon – can be purchased in the bookstore or the canteen during recess
ii) Debit/credit card

19. Do all the students have their meals in the canteen?

Yes except for KG.

Note: For KG, Year 1 & Year 2, parents/guardian can pre-order their meals 1 week in advance through the Sayfol website. Food will be delivered to the students during breaks accordingly.

20. How do you handle student assessments and progress reports?

Formative Assessment throughout the term, Summative Assessment towards the end of the term. Parent & teacher meetings will be held on the last day of every term.

21. Do you accept students with special needs?

It is on a case-by-case basis. We do have a qualified SEN teacher in our school, however we are not experts in this field, and while we do accept students who require special needs education, we also understand the limitations of our expertise. In cases where we might not be fully equipped to assist a student, we will let the parents know about alternative options that may better cater to their child’s specific needs. Kindly refer to our Admission Team for further details.

22. What kind of technology resources and infrastructure are available?

ICT Labs, Sciences Lab, Football field, Basketball Court, Library, Music Room, Swimming Pool & Multipurpose Hall.

23. Can parents/guardians be involved in school activities and events?

We involve parents where we can, especially with celebration days, international days, etc.

24. How can parents communicate with teachers and stay updated on their child's progress?

Via See Saw application.
