On 29th October 2025, Sayfol International School proudly celebrated its 40th Anniversary in conjunction with Founder’s Day. It was a momentous occasion that brought together generations of Sayfolians, teachers, and staff to honour four decades of education, growth, and shared memories.
The event was held at the Sayfol Activity Hub and was graced by our beloved Founder, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Haji Ghulam Mohd Sayeed, whose presence filled the room with warmth, nostalgia, and pride. As he stepped onto the stage, it was not merely a founder addressing his community, but a visionary sharing his life’s work. Sayfol was a dream that began in 1985 and has since grown into one of Malaysia’s most reputable international schools.
The celebration began with an atmosphere brimming with excitement and emotion. Students, teachers and staff filled the hall, eager to reflect on Sayfol’s remarkable 40-year journey. The stage that was beautifully decorated by our teachers became a canvas for the story of how far the school has come, reflecting its humble beginnings to becoming a community that embraces diversity, nurtures character, and celebrates excellence.
The event opened with a welcome speech by the Head of School Ms. Michelle and was followed by a touching speech by the Founder, who reminisced about the school’s early challenges and the determination it took to build a foundation for future generations. He spoke from the heart about his belief in holistic education, one that goes beyond academics and nurtures global citizens grounded in values of respect, empathy, and perseverance. His words served as a gentle reminder that Sayfol’s greatest achievement lies not only in its academic milestones but in the lives it has shaped.
One of the most moving moments of the day was the performance of an original song composed by our Head of School, Ms. Michelle, in celebration of this milestone year. The heartfelt lyrics and soulful melody captured the essence of Sayfol. Performed beautifully by our students, the song resonated with everyone present, serving as a tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and a promise for the future.
The celebration also featured a series of student performances, each showcasing the incredible talent and creativity that thrives within Sayfol’s walls. From cultural dances to musical showcases, the performances reflected the diversity and inclusivity that define our community.
In his heartfelt speech, the Founder reflected on Sayfol’s mission and values, the vision of an international school that fosters global perspectives while upholding the essence of compassion and humanity. He acknowledged the dedication of teachers, the trust of parents, and the enthusiasm of students who have kept Sayfol’s flame burning bright over four decades.
As the Founder spoke, it became clear that this was more than a celebration; it was a reminder of the shared effort, resilience, and love that built the Sayfol we know today. Through challenges and triumphs alike, the school has continued to evolve. It was a powerful reminder of its enduring commitment to quality education and community growth.
The highlight of the morning was the 40th Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremony, symbolising unity and the passage of time. In a touching moment, the Founder shared the stage with four students and Mr. Salendra Dev, all of whom coincidentally shared the same birthday as him. It was a beautiful gesture that emphasised the deep connection between Sayfol’s founder, its students, and its extended family. The hall filled with claps and cheers as the cake was cut.
Just when we thought the celebration ended, Ms. Michelle and our CEO, Ms Karen, mounted two elegant horses that had been specially brought in by the Founder himself. Guided by Isabel Lonjoung Sayeed, the Founder’s granddaughter and a proud Sayfol alumni.
As the celebration drew to a close, the emotions in the room were intense. It was a blend of pride for how far Sayfol has come and excitement for what lies ahead. From its founding days to the present, Sayfol has remained true to its vision: to nurture well-rounded individuals who are compassionate, confident, and capable of making a difference in the world.
As we step into the next chapter, Sayfol International School remains committed to embracing innovation while preserving the values that define our legacy. With a renewed focus on academic excellence, creativity, and character development, Sayfol will continue to be a place where young minds grow, dreams take flight, and communities thrive together.
The 40th Anniversary and Founder’s Day celebration was not just an event; it was a heartfelt reminder of who we are, where we come from, and where we are headed.
