Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia), is a statutory body which started operations on 26 January 1959. Bank Negara Malaysia is governed by the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009. The role of Bank Negara Malaysia is to promote monetary and financial stability. This is aimed at providing a conducive environment for the sustainable growth of the Malaysian economy.
The bank is also regarded as a centre of knowledge, learning and excellence. The Bank has a continuous for continuous drive for talent, development through effective learning initiatives as well as creating a conducive environment to promote best practices in central banking.
Sayfol has a longstanding relationship with the bank as of our Economics curriculum. Students got the opportunity to see series of bank notes of Malaysia that have been in usage, the currency of countries of the world, currencies of Malaysia which are no longer in usage, they even printed their own notes and were allowed to keep it as souvenirs.
The educational value of this visit cannot be under estimated since it is knowledge that are imparted into our students for the rest of their lives. With these kind of excursions, we are taking them from the abstract to the known. Theoretical knowledge become practical and they are able to see the relationship between practice and theory.
